    ANOTHER POEM

Purple butterflies flitter across blood red fields. A dog, big and blue guards the queen. Fish glide through the air past clouds of golden yellow, A pink cat slithers across pink tiles hoping the dog won't see. Birds wearing their camouflage coats dart through a bubbling river. The king laughs, his emerald green feathers jiggling. This is the place of dreams the country of unexpected in the world of impossible. This is the Imagine Nation.

    TODAY

Waters wash lazily over white sands Occasional clouds drift across blue skies Trees rustle with passing breezes and salt tang fills the air On the water boats crawl A trail of white disappearing behind Squeals of children bobbing in the sea While parents bake in the sun Resting beside me on the table A cup of coffee send trails of flavour To tantalise my eager senses And my pen nestles comfortably in my hand Lined paper stares blankly Waiting the wisdom of my mind Words crash like waves on

Merry Christmas? Wait, is that a question? Yes, I want to know about the saying. How did it come about? Ahhh, good question. According to the history books, even though we’ve been celebrating Christmas since the 4th century, it wasn’t until the 1300s that we gave it that name and the 1500s that we stopped making it all about ourselves and came up with Christmas greetings. That’s progress. It was in 1565 that we saw the first written version of “Merry Christmas”. Did “merry” mean what it does

    Christmas is coming

The lights are coming together again for Christmas. The backdrop is almost complete, the lights will soon be coming out of storage for testing and erection, (anti-vandal cameras are operating), snow machines are tested and Santa has promised to come and see the show. (The photo is from last year)

    I am an orchidholic

I admit it - I am an orchidholic. I inherited my first orchids (shown) and the passion has grown though it is only a hobby. But I find that I cannot go past a display without stopping and each time I see something new I am tempted to buy it. I now have my little orchid house and am thinking of where I can put more of these beautiful plants. I'm addicted but I am enjoying the addiction.

    Finding the trilogy

One question I am often asked is, "Where do you get your ideas?". My joking answer is that they come from my warped mind and maybe there is some truth in that but I get my ideas from all about me whether it is watching someone at their daily routine or from events or history. When I first sat down to write this story it was meant to be the typical battle of humans and auchs (orcs) but my intention was to write the auch's side of the tale because they always lose and history is written by the
